Rescuers undeterred by harsh Siachen weather



The harsh weather do not affect the morale of soldiers searching for their companions in Siachen.
 
The weather continues to be harsh and unfriendly, posing operational and administrative difficulties for both men and machines busy in the rescue operation. The rescue operators have started working on another priority point (Sixth Site) while continuing thier rescue search to the earlier 5 identified points.

Extension of US embassy challenged



The extension plan of the US embassy in Islamabad has been challenged in the SC.

A petition filed in the Lahore registry Branch of Supreme Court, requesting the court to order Capital Development Authority (CDA) to cancel approval of the extension plan of the US embassy in Islamabad.

Matric exams continue amid reports of cheating



Cases of cheating have been reported in most of the examination centers in Interior Sindh. 

According to the details, the invigilators employed at different examination centers have failed to prevent students from using their cell phones. While the invigilators roamed about the examination centres, the students found no trouble in jotting down their answers using mobile phones, books, notes and other material.

Missing persons: SC orders suspension, arrest of IG



SC CJ orders to arrest IG Balochistan after suspending him over the case of law and order situation.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry dismayed at the absence of inspector general (IG) Baluchistan. 
Expressing displeasure over the absence of IG Balochistan and incomplete record of missing persons, CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry directed the secretary establishment to initiate an inquiry against the IG Balochistan and concerned SP.

12 Pakistani, Iranian hostages rescued, 16 pirates held



12 Iranian and Pakistani hostages have been freed from custody of Somali pirates. 

Danish navy said Thursday it had stopped a pirate ship off the Somali coast and arrested 16 captors of the hostages.

Angry Afridi attacks fan at airport



Boom Boom Afridi assaults fan at airport, claims daughter was pushed.

It was a not a very happy homecoming for Shahid Afridi after Pakistan s Asia Cup triumph as he got into a scuffle with a fan at the airport, claiming that he reacted angrily only when his three-year-old daughter was pushed to the ground by eager admirers. 
"I know what I did was wrong. I should have controlled myself. But I couldn t take it when my daughter was pushed to the ground," Afridi told Dunya News.

Argentine designers showed off new fall/winter fashions in Buenos Aires as Buenos Aires  fashion week continued. 
The evening opened with austere creations from the brand Menage a Trois, headed by designer Amelia Chaban. 
Based in black, Chaban s collection included fitted coats, long pants and more revealing floor length lace dresses.
Colour and shine came in the form of gold dresses and sequins on lace tops.
