Aitzaz has contended the 7-member SC bench was not competent to hear contempt case.
He also argued after the article 10 A of the Constitution, contempt of court law didn’t exist.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said the court has the right to conduct contempt of court proceedings. Aitzaz further said confidence on judges was imperative for a fair trial. He observed the judges initiated the contempt proceedings and now they themselves have become plaintiff and plaintiff could not hear the case against the accused.
